Today, Tuesday September 27th is the feast day of S. Vincent de Paul. Vincent was born in 1581 near Dax in the South of France, he was a French Catholic priest who dedicated himself to serving the poor. St Vincent was an outspoken advocate for the poor and marginalised and used his position to influence change. In 1624 he met St Louise and together they founded the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul.
Avista is proud of the foundations of the organisation and the rich heritage it has based on the legacy of St Vincent and St Louise.
